Studio/Community Manager

Our new Studio/Community Manager will be the main point of contact for our community and the face of Example House.

About the role:

Recently we opened the doors to Example House, our new co-working space and collaboration hub for Australia’s hospitality and creative industries. A home base for our growing team, it also offers permanent and hot desk solutions for our friends in the industry with the vision to bring a bunch of smart and passionate people together under one inspiring and collaborative roof.

Our new Community Manager will be the main point of contact for our community and the face of Example House. Diligent, easily adaptable and full of personality, they will be an experienced multi-tasker with strong organisational skills and extensive office management experience.

As this is a lead of operations position, the perfect candidate will have strong examples of taking ownership and being proactive in previous roles. They are a ‘get stuck in’ type, who proactively takes initiative to problem solve, matched with a fun, positive personality. Charming but assertive, flexible but decisive, and everyone’s friend and ally. We’re looking for someone that will assert Example House as a home rather than a corporate space, treating every day like its a dinner party and they’re the host.

Your roles and responsibilities:

Office Management

  • Lead and run the day-to-day operations of Example and Example House – greeting guests, managing phones, keeping the space presentable, setting up rooms (arranging catering when necessary), ensuring office supplies are in stock and organising couriers
  • Provide general administrative support to the Example team – managing inbound general enquiries, conducting research, assisting with media send-outs and maintaining client relationship schedule
  • Lead PA tasks for directors including management of their calenders and inbox, general administration and managing their travel arrangements

Example House

  • Ensure Example House is fully operational and that all internal processes are running smoothly including ordering of weekly groceries, watering plants and ensuring cleanliness
  • Lead operations for all Example House hot desk members – driving new memberships, managing bookings through Nexudus, onboarding new members, managing all advertising and nurturing our growing CRM
  • Manage all Example House suppliers including our security, waste and cleaning partner

Example Community

  • Implement Example House rules, guidelines and best practices for the community to optimise member experience
  • Assist senior team with HR tasks including recruitment, immigration, review scheduling, entry & exit interviews and leave
  • Work with the internal Example community, marketing and culture teams to drive collaboration, thought leadership and team-building

And Finally...

  • Manage internal programs including Nexudus, 1Password, GSuite and others
  • Arrange gifts and celebrations for staff and client birthdays and anniversaries
  • Most importantly, ensure the fridge is fully stocked in time for Friday drinks

Your Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in an Office Manager / PA role
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with proven ability to multitask and prioritise work
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Apple Mac programmes (Keynote)
  • Proficient with GSuite (Google Docs, Gmail)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • A personable, confident, positive and enthusiastic nature, also adept at proactively problem solving
  • A team player who is also able to take the initiative and self-manage

What we offer

  • Killer office culture – one that’s inspiring, supportive, flexible and fun.
  • Clients you’ll boast to your mates about – work alongside cutting edge food & beverage, travel and entertainment businesses.
  • Flexibility – start/finish earlier or later if it suits you, work from home when needed or perch yourself at a cafe to brainstorm. We don’t chain anyone to their desk.
  • Treats – monthly team outings, half-yearly staff parties, as well as the opportunity to earn annual bonus payments.
  • Career development – mentoring and skills-based training to supercharge your career, helping you to grow with Example.
  • Open feedback – senior leaders available on request to discuss and provide constructive feedback on performance and goals.
